How Elegant With Exquisite Silk Sarees

Sarees are typically made from several different fabrics, but there's little doubt that silk sarees are among the most elegant and exquisite of all.

Whether you choose a deeply-hued solid color, an elaborate, highly embellished floral print, or one of the patterns that's a bit more abstract, the vivid colors, vibrant patterns and gorgeous look of beautiful sarees can transform your appearance and help you look your best.

Indian sarees are not the type of garment that can be easily found in local department stores or woman's dress shops.

Instead, they must be sought out carefully, especially when you're looking for an authentic saree.

As a family of Indian origin, we have many years of first-hand experience with sarees.  We know where to obtain the highest-quality sarees, and we're here to help you find a stunning, authentic saree of your own.

What is a Saree?

A saree (also spelled as sari) is a traditional Asian form of women's attire that consists of a long strip of unstitched fabric which is carefully draped over a woman's body in one of several styles.

Silk sarees range in length from roughly four to nine yards long, so a significant amount of fabric is involved.  Sarees are frequently worn in several Asian countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Burma, Pakistan and Bhutan, but they are most strongly associated with India.

In fact, it is thought that sarees originated thousands of years ago in the western part of the Indian subcontinent, and many people view them as being almost iconic of traditional Indian culture.

Silk sarees are most often wrapped around the waist, with the loose end of the fabric draped over the shoulder.  Some draping styles bare the woman's midriff.  Sarees are typically woven with one plain end (the end that is inside the wrapped portion), decorative borders that run along the entire length of both edges of the fabric, and a fairly short, two- or three-foot long section at the other end which carries on the decorative pattern along the edges of the fabric.  This decorative end is the portion of the saree that is draped over the woman's shoulder.

Sarees can, however, be draped in a number of different styles.  Some of these styles require longer lengths of fabric than others.  A cropped, low-necked, short-sleeved blouse known as a choli or ravika is typically worn as an upper garment beneath a sari.

Sarees in the World

Sarees have long been a traditional Indian garment, but Indian migration to a number of Western countries, globalization, and the evolution of today's global markets have all combined forces to cause sarees to become increasingly popular with many Western women.

Depending on how they are draped, silk sarees can be demure or highly alluring.  They truly are a woman's garment that lets you allow your imagination to enhance your appearance.

All of this means that when you're shopping for Indian sarees, and especially the silk varieties, you need to find a trustworthy source you can rely on.

We buy many of our saris directly from master sari fabric weavers and factories in India, so you know they're authentic.  Our designer sarees come directly from an assortment of boutiques and saree shops located in South India and Malaysia, so you can also feel comfortable that you'll receive the exquisite saree you're looking for.  And, when you buy one of our silk sarees, we'll ship it to you no matter where you live in the world.

As we mentioned above, you can't find stunning silk sarees in your local department store or even in most women's clothing boutiques.  You certainly won't find them in any discount store.

The fact that authentic silk sarees are made in the same regions where they originated long ago - India, Indian Sub-continent, South East Asia and so forth, means you almost have to purchase them online

We have many years of personal experience with sarees, and we want to bring their beauty and elegance to the women of the world who want to transform themselves and expand their look with unique, exotic, exquisite saree designs, styles and forms.

Sarees are a traditional form of Indian attire, but they are much more than that.  A gorgeous sari can definitely help you look your very best, and we hope to show you how you can accomplish exactly that - by transforming yourself with one of our beautiful pure silk sarees.
